Fees and Expenses

Generally, you won’t be charged any fees for the financial advice I provide to you. This is possible because, on settlement of a loan, the lender usually pays commission to me. Any exceptions to this general position are explained below. If these exceptions will apply to you, I will let you know.
One-off Fees:
(a) There’s no commission: If you request financial advice and I do not receive a commission from the lender, I may charge you a one-off fee. This fee would be agreed and authorised by you in writing before I complete the services.
(b) Commission Clawback: If you make certain changes to your loan, and the lender requires me to repay all or part of the commission, I may charge you a fee to recover some of that cost. This applies if the changes occur within 28 months of the loan drawdown. This fee will be based on time spent providing the advice (usually $200/hour plus GST), capped at the value of the commission repaid.
Client Not Proceeding Fee:
If you decide not to proceed after a lending offer has been provided, I may charge a fee for time spent preparing your lending solution. This will be at a rate of $150/hour (plus GST), capped at $2,400. This only applies if you subsequently proceed with the same lender via another adviser or directly.
Referral Commission:
I may or may not receive a commission when referring you to insurance, property, or service providers.
Commissions and Incentives

We receive commissions from the lenders we work with when a loan is settled. Commission amounts vary depending on the lender.
Banks:
- Upfront commissions typically range from 0.00% to 0.85% of the loan amount.
- Ongoing (trail) commissions may range from 0.00% to 0.20% per annum of the outstanding loan balance.
Non-Bank Lenders:
- Upfront commissions typically range from 0.00% to 3.00% of the loan amount.
- Ongoing (trail) commissions may range from 0.00% to 0.20% per annum of the outstanding loan balance.
We may or may not receive commissions or fees from referral partners (such as XE or Tower Insurance).
We manage conflicts of interest by:
- Recommending only suitable products
- Using a documented, client-first advice process
- Regular compliance training and oversight
- Disclosing all remuneration in writing before proceeding
We do not accept soft-dollar incentives (e.g., gifts or trips).
